A cooperative expansion for The Witcher: Path Of Destiny!

The Legendary Monsters is the second paid gameplay add-on for The Witcher: Path of Destiny. It introduces a fully cooperative mode, where players fight one automated enemy - a legendary monster.

The chosen monster will roam the board, fighting the players and launching powerful special attacks. Even if one player is eliminated, the game is lost, so tight cooperation is a key to success.

Along the way, players will need to complete Challenges, that will allow them to gain the benefits necessary to even stand a chance. Do not ignore Challenge cards, as the unfulfilled challenges will hurt you!

How to kill a monster?

The main change happens with the Tale cards - in Legendary Hunt, they are replaced with the Legendary Monster cards. Each monster has a passive ability and special attacks.

Monster miniature is not only an eye candy, but it marks the spot currently occupied by it - players in the same spot are risking their lives. The movement of the monster is governed by the Monster Initiative cards - after each player’s move, the monster will react.

The Monster also collects cards - when (that’s not “if”!) it has enough cards in a specific color, it attacks with full power, with horrifying effects. The player’s role is first, to survive (each player has 7 Life points represented by the life point tokens), then to deal the damage, by collecting Fight symbols. he other symbols are still useful, for completing Challenges and gathering Experience.

The players also have access to the special team abilities, and the help of new Companions, which will make their job a little easier.

The Witcher: Old World compatibility

The legendary monsters represent the ancient evil, that terrorized people through centuries. Even in the time of the Old World…

In the box, as an extra crossover component, you’ll find 4 cards to bring these Legendary Monsters to the Old World. They will follow the same mechanic as the already existing monster from the Legendary Hunt expansion. To be able to use them as the ultimate nemeses, you’ll need the base game of The Witcher: Old World, and the expansion to that game Legendary Hunt.

In the add-on, you will find 4 monsters with their components: miniatures, cards, initiative cards, tokens, and a Life Point counter. Each monster fights differently thanks to his special rules.
